Mobile Memory Enrichment’s second Kiva loan campaign is officially live.

We are raising support for a $7,000, zero-interest business loan that will help us reach more in-home families, strengthen our partnerships with Adult Foster Homes, train additional Activity Coaches, and develop practical dementia-friendly resources for caregivers and care professionals.

Our first Kiva loan helped us build the Mobile Memory Enrichment website and establish a stronger digital foundation for our growing business. We successfully completed and repaid that loan.

Now, we are returning to Kiva to build the next stage of our work.

What Is Kiva?

Kiva is a nonprofit crowdfunding platform that connects entrepreneurs and small businesses with individual lenders.

People can participate by lending as little as $25. The business then repays the loan through Kiva over time.

This is not a donation. It is a repayable business loan that allows community members to directly support the growth of a small business they believe in.

Before our campaign can become available to Kiva’s worldwide lending community, Mobile Memory Enrichment must first gather 30 individual lenders during our Private Fundraising Period.

Every lender helps demonstrate community trust in our work and moves us one step closer to receiving the full loan.

Why Mobile Memory Enrichment Is Growing

Mobile Memory Enrichment provides person-centered dementia support in private homes, Adult Foster Homes, and community settings throughout Hillsboro, Washington County, and surrounding Oregon communities.

Our Activity Coaches use conversation, music, movement, reminiscence, creative projects, sensory experiences, familiar routines, and individualized activities to create meaningful engagement.

We do not begin with a diagnosis or a list of limitations. We begin with the person.

We consider each individual’s interests, abilities, life experiences, relationships, culture, routines, and preferences. Our goal is to support connection, dignity, comfort, identity, and purpose.

We also know that dementia affects an entire care ecosystem.

Family caregivers may need reassurance, practical guidance, respite, activity ideas, and help adapting daily routines. Adult Foster Home teams may need meaningful activities, caregiver education, and personalized engagement resources for residents with different needs and abilities.

As more families and care partners learn about Mobile Memory Enrichment, we must strengthen our team, outreach, training systems, and resources so that we can continue growing responsibly.

How the Kiva Loan Will Be Used

We carefully developed a plan for the $7,000 loan that balances immediate service growth with long-term sustainability.

Digital Resource Store and E-Commerce Integration — $1,500

Our first Kiva loan helped us establish our website.

This new investment will help us add a Digital Resource Store and e-commerce capabilities to that existing foundation.

The store will make dementia-friendly activities, PAL Kits, caregiver education, meaningful engagement resources, and practical aging-in-place tools more accessible to families, Adult Foster Homes, healthcare professionals, and community partners.

It will also allow knowledge developed through direct service to reach people beyond an individual visit.

Adult Foster Home and In-Home Client Outreach — $1,800

A valuable service cannot help a family that does not know it exists.

This portion of the loan will support outreach and marketing to Adult Foster Homes, in-home families, care professionals, and referral partners.

We want more people throughout Hillsboro and Washington County to know that personalized in-home dementia support, caregiver coaching, meaningful activities, and non-pharmacological engagement services are available.

The funding will help us develop professional outreach materials, strengthen local referral relationships, improve community education, and create clearer pathways for families and care providers to connect with Mobile Memory Enrichment.

Activity Coach Hiring, Training, and Initial Payroll — $2,000

Reaching more families must be matched by the ability to serve them well.

This funding will help us hire, onboard, train, and support additional Activity Coaches as they begin building their schedules.

Activity Coaches learn how to create person-centered activities, adapt engagement to different abilities, support caregivers, observe responses, prepare meaningful resources, and document the cause-and-effect relationship between an activity and the person’s engagement.

Growing our team will help Mobile Memory Enrichment serve more in-home clients and Adult Foster Home residents without losing the individualized attention that defines our work.

Learning Lab and Mobile Activity Library — $1,000

We are developing a starter Learning Lab where Activity Coaches can train, practice engagement approaches, prepare materials for visits, demonstrate activities to caregivers, and test new dementia-friendly resources.

The Learning Lab will also support a mobile Activity Library.

Rather than using the same activity for every person, coaches will be able to choose materials based on an individual’s interests, history, abilities, environment, and personal preferences.

The Learning Lab will connect staff training, caregiver education, activity development, demonstration, and direct service within one practical system.

PAL Kit Prototypes and Initial Inventory — $700

PAL Kits are being developed to make meaningful engagement easier to personalize, prepare, demonstrate, and share.

This portion of the loan will support prototypes, demonstration materials, packaging, small-scale testing, and initial inventory.

By beginning with prototypes, we can observe how the materials work in real-life settings before investing in larger quantities.

The most useful resources can then be refined and eventually offered through the Digital Resource Store.

One Connected System of Dementia Support

This loan is not funding five unrelated projects.

It is creating one connected pathway.

Outreach helps families and Adult Foster Homes discover Mobile Memory Enrichment.

Additional Activity Coaches give us the capacity to respond.

The Learning Lab helps our team train, prepare, demonstrate, and improve.

The mobile Activity Library brings personalized materials into homes.

PAL Kit prototypes turn successful ideas into repeatable tools.

The Digital Resource Store allows those tools and educational resources to reach more caregivers and care partners.

Together, these investments will help us expand dementia care and caregiver support while preserving the personal relationships at the heart of Mobile Memory Enrichment.

Mobile Memory Enrichment is currently in Kiva’s Private Fundraising Period.

We need 30 individual lenders before our campaign can advance to Public Fundraising and become visible to Kiva’s worldwide lending community.
